Hello, my name is Mrs. Coleen Kowalski and I am excited to be back as the Learning Resource Teacher here at Christ the King School!
A little information about myself. I am from the northwest suburb of Arlington Heights, Our Lady of the Wayside Parish, but I have been living with my family in Oak Lawn, St. Catherine of Alexandria
Parish, since 2000. My family includes myself, my husband Scott and my two daughters Maggie, and Moira.
I graduated with a B.A. in Social Science from St. Mary's of Minnesota, and a Masters in Teaching from Concordia University Chicago. I also received my Special Education Learning Behavior
Specialist, LBS1 endorsement from Concordia University Chicago.
Learning is a lifelong process and in support of my learning, I have continued to take classes to expand my knowledge and understanding of special education. I have completed a graduate certificate in Autism
Spectrum Disorder and a graduate certificate in Leadership in Special and Inclusive Education both from the University of Kansas. The experiences have been fantastic and have also translated into useful
tools to add while working with all students.
