Welcome to Room 107!
    Welcome to 4th Grade!
My name is Mary Beth Phillips and I am very excited to be one of the 4th grade teachers this year in Room 107! This is my fifth year as a teacher, and my second year teaching 4th grade. Prior to teaching 4th grade, I taught kindergarten here at CK for three years.
I earned my BA in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign way back when, and my M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from UIC in 2014.  Before switching careers and deciding to become a teacher, I worked in corporate banking.
I grew up in Evergreen Park, and while I attended the public schools there, I was a member of Most Holy Redeemer parish where I went to CCD.  My mom still lives in EP, and I visit her often.
I am an only child, but I have two best friends - Marcy & Carlotta - whom I have known since I was in kindergarten and are like my sisters.  I also have two wonderful Godchildren whom I adore - Nicholas is 16 and Annabella is 8.
Here is some other fun information about me:  I am a life-long White Sox fan; my favorite colors are pink and light blue; my favorite animal is the polar bear; my favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz; my favorite food is french fries and my favorite restaurant is Roseangela's pizza in Evergreen Park.  I LOVE Abraham Lincoln, going for walks, shopping, traveling, organizing things, spending time with my family and friends, going to the library and most of all, READING!
I cannot wait to meet all of you - we are going to have a terrific year of learning and fun!
